WHY IS THIS SPORTS NEWS

This past Monday, on the new edition of WWE Inc's Monday Night Raw, World Champion, Edge announced he was retirement.  This is not an angle/storyline booking in any form.  Edge HAS to retire according to his doctors, otherwise Edge could be paralyzed or live in a wheel chair the rest of his life.  Over 8 years ago, Edge broke his neck and he been losing feeling in his arms and hands for weeks now.  Finally he got tested and the damage done to his neck was too much and he retired.  We've seen people in the past give it go still, but Edge is a smart man and doesn't need the extra pay day and risk a chance his life could be over.  I appluad him for stopping when he should, and not let it go any farther!

Something Special

Everyday we see something special in the world of sports, but this story is truely remarkable.  Johnny Damon who "is" at the end of his baseball career (or at least analyst believe) just accomplished another feet in what has been an incredible career.  Damon last night became the first player ever to hit 5 walk-off home runs for 5 different teams.  That in itself is an amazing accomplishment.  Just days before Damon hit a home run to lead the game off, in Boston.  He may have lost some arm strength in the outfield, but make no doubt about it, Johnny Damon still has game and a lot of it left in the tank!

New Photos of the mid week up!

Photo of the week goes out to Kemba Walker and the 2011 National Champion UConn Huskies.  The picture was taken at UConn's rally on Tuesday

Funny photo of the week goes out to Jersey Shore's own Snooki.  Snooki was brought in by the WWE for publicity and it resulted in Snooki having a match at the WWE's version of the SuperBowl, WrestleMania. Snooki ended up pinning her teams oppenent and picked up the win.  This is funny photo because it's a joke if they ever happens again

Artist of the week goes out the Card company that produced this awesome photo of Yankees pitcher Phil Hughes

All in all these are some pretty good photos put this week

WHY IS THIS NEWS IN SPORTS?

The UConn Huskies just won the 2011 NCAA National Championship and most of the journalists continue to degrade the Huskies and the Butler Bulldogs for the way the game was played out.  I get it, it was an ugly game but do not sit there and not give credit to the Huskies defense.  The Huskies contested just about every single shot Butler took, not to mention they altered many of Butler's inside shots as well.  Talking about the game being ugly is not news! However talking about how good a teams defense is!
